The place

Standard DOC hut with 10 bunks in Nelson Lakes National Park, at 480 m. Located on the track connecting Sabine Hut (2 h) and Morgan Hut (4 h). Important: a bridge has been removed (coordinates E1571366 N5359831) — trampers must ford a stream about 1 m deep at normal flow. Invasive algae Lindavia present in nearby lakes: keep gear completely dry for 48 hours before swimming or drawing water in an alpine lake. Biosecurity stations available nearby. No booking, payment by hut tickets or Backcountry Hut Pass (NZ$10/5 until 30 June 2026).
