The place

Former pastoral corral ("corral" = livestock enclosure) sited at 688 m in the Aragonese foothills (province of Zaragoza, El Frago/Luna area, Aragon, Spain). Notable position in the southern Pyrenean foothills, landscapes typical of the transition between the central Pyrenees and the Ebro plain. Traditionally pastoral building, in local dry-stone masonry, a testimony to age-old Aragonese pastoralism — a stopping point for transhumant flocks between high summer pastures and winter lowland grazing. Landmark on the well-developed mountain-bike (BTT — Bicicleta Todo Terreno) routes of the Luna/El Frago area. Mediterranean-Pyrenean forest setting: holm oaks, pines, dry meadows, classic cultural landscapes of prehistoric and medieval Aragon (very ancient occupation). Emblematic fauna: wild boar, roe deer, fox, griffon vulture, booted eagle, golden eagle in the heights. Historic waypoint of Aragonese pastoralism.
