The place

Former military watch post built in 1744 on the Amiets beach at Cléder (Finistère, Brittany). Rue Hent An Enez, 29233 Cléder. Served as a relay for transmitting signals between guard posts, as a precaution against enemy naval threats. Housed three to four lookouts. Building fitted with a fireplace. Neighbour to another post, the Corps de garde de Lavillo. An example of 18th-century French maritime surveillance infrastructure in Brittany.
