DOC cottage in the Kauaeranga Valley (Coromandel Forest Park), surrounded by native bush. Capacity 8 people across 3 sleeping areas: room A (4 people, 2 sets of bunks), room B (2, 1 set), lounge (2, 1 set). Facilities: heat pump, large shared lawn. Water available a 5-minute walk away. Kauaeranga Visitor Centre nearby (basic supplies, free wifi). Bedding not provided. Access: SH 25 near Thames, then Banks/Parawai Road becoming Kauaeranga Valley Road (gravel after 10 km), visitor centre 2-3 km further on to collect keys. Online booking required (phone/centre booking incurs a NZ$10 fee). Rate NZ$161/night (no extra guest charge) + NZ$50 cleaning fee, 2-night minimum, rates valid through 30 June 2026. Backcountry Hut Pass not accepted.
