DOC "Standard" category hut at ~645 m, 6 bunks, in the Lake Sumner Forest Park (North Canterbury / Arthur's Pass, South Island, New Zealand). Located about 6.6 km from the nearest road, accessible via Jollie Brook and Cold Stream. No booking required — you must buy a Standard Hut Ticket (blue adult, yellow youth) per night before departing and deposit it in the hut's honesty box, or use an annual Backcountry Hut Pass (6 or 12 months) covering most Standard and Serviced huts. Facilities: mattresses, heating, dry toilet, water from the stream. Dogs not allowed. Access trail sometimes overgrown with tutu up to waist height.
