The Cleve Cole Memorial Hut is a historic Crown Hut located at 1790 m elevation in the Alpine National Park (Mt Bogong, Victoria, Australia), built in 1937 in memory of Cleve Cole, an Australian alpine skiing pioneer who died during a winter crossing from Mt Hotham to Mt Bogong in August 1936. Managed by the Mt Bogong Club since 1965, which maintains it. Regulated by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. A classic stop on the hiking and skiing route across the Bogong High Plains, with an adjoining campsite (Cleve Cole Hut Camping Area, Bogong Remote and Natural Area).

A bit of history

Nommé en hommage à Cleve Cole, mort d'hypothermie en août 1936 lors d'une tentative de première traversée hivernale des Bogong High Plains avec Mick Hull et Howard Michell, peu après avoir été retrouvé par une équipe de secours. Hut construit en 1937 ou 1938 (sources divergentes), Alpine National Park, Victoria, Australie.
