The place

CAS Glarus hut at 2,453 m in the Glarus Alps. 74 staffed places, 12 in winter; open until early October. Set among glaciers and mountain lakes, with viewpoints, wildlife sightings and starry nights. Activities: climbing, hiking, hammock. No self-catering during the staffed season. Stage 8 of the Via Glaralpina (Urnerboden, Fisetenpass, Gemsfairenjoch). Above 2,450 m, snow can persist continuously early in the season.
