The place
Chozo La Barga in the Sierra de la Demanda, province of Burgos (Castile and León, Spain), at 1117 m elevation, on the northern foothills of the Sistema Ibérico. A chozo (a traditional dry-stone pastoral hut with a conical broom-thatched roof) used during summer transhumance by Castilian shepherds, a major ethnographic heritage feature of the Burgos serranías. Area of beeches, Pyrenean oaks, and Scots pines.
