Standard 6-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in the Takitimu Conservation Area, Southland region (South Island, New Zealand), at 713 m altitude. Sweeping views over the Te Anau basin and Fiordland, access to climbing routes near Excelsior Peak. A 4x4 track crosses Cheviot Downs Station: prior authorization required by phone at +64 3 249 8816.
