Chatky Východná
The place
Small guest chalets located in Východná, a village in the northern foothills of the Low Tatras in Slovakia, halfway between Liptovský Mikuláš and Poprad. The area serves as a base for approaching hikes in the High Tatras and the neighbouring Low Tatras, as well as for ski touring in winter from the Čertovica area. Východná is notably known for the annual folklore festival held there at the height of summer. The chatky offer simple wooden accommodation, typical of Slovak rural hospitality tradition, complementing the many high-altitude Tatra chaty (Téryho, Zbojnícka, Chata pod Soliskom...).
