The place
Chata Borkút ("Boron spring chalet") in the Prešov region, Sabinov/Ľubotice area (eastern Slovakia, Slovakia), at 276 m elevation, in the foothills of the Šarišská vrchovina. Continuous eastern Slovakia cluster (batches 200-338). A private or club chalet (Borkút being an old carbonated mineral spring typical of the Šariš foothills; SLKS/OKST founded 1868 in Prešov, the first upper-Slovak tourist club, bilingual Slovak-Hungarian), in an area of mid-mountain oak-hornbeam forest and home to a Ruthenian minority (Greek Catholic Šariš community, some 20,000, speaking an East Slavic transitional dialect), part of the heritage of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Prešov (founded 1818 under Franz Joseph, the only Slovak Greek Catholic patriarchate, with 210,000 faithful in Slovakia).
