The place

Former sheepfold at 2190 m, in the core zone of the Parc national de la Vanoise, on the trail leading to the Refuge de la Valette from the hamlet of Prioux, at the junction with the high-route variant toward the Refuge du Roc de la Pèche. Building open to the elements, door out of service but walls and roof intact. Serves as a rustic emergency shelter and is still used for livestock during the summer grazing season. No comfort, no interior fittings.
