The place

Private mountain-pasture chalets at 1445 m in the Parc naturel régional du Massif des Bauges (Savoie), with views of the Belledonne range. Overnight stays not permitted, but the owners graciously allow shelter in case of storms. No water point at the chalet itself but three springs nearby, one less than 2 min away going down the forest track. Easiest access from the Col des Prés: parking, then 1h30 walk.
