The place

Very comfortable refuge. At minus 2° outside, the interior heats up very quickly and you soon find yourself taking off your sweater. Seating for 10/12 at the table. A comfortable double armchair in good condition. A hatchet with a dull blade on site. The stove doesn't smoke. Three windows make the single room bright. A kettle. Plenty of newspaper. A broom. No fountain nearby but a stream not far away (the Goutte du Rieux, I believe). From ST MAURICE SUR MOSELLE, take the D465 toward the Ballon d'Alsace, then at the riding centre, take the Chemin des Paltons. 40 minutes of gentle uphill walking later, you arrive at Chalet Spiler.
