The place

Sleeping capacity: 4 A group of 2 old chalets (one is the barn, the other the former dwelling), which appears to have been abandoned for quite some time. That's a shame, because with a bit of time and effort to tidy and clean up all the clutter (that's putting it mildly) found inside, it could make a very good shelter. Still, it remains accessible (no prohibition signs at the entrance) and can serve as a decent shelter for the night if you're happy with the bare minimum. Inside, a large main room with a table, a few chairs and quite a bit of bric-a-brac. Three other rooms on the ground floor (one with an ancient stove that I doubt still works, another a small bedroom with two "period" beds). Another small room on the edge of the chalet. Upstairs, a small bedroom with 2 more "beds" (well, what's left of them), and some extra space in the eaves, but it's filled with indescribable clutter... From outside, below the refuge, another accessible room with an earthen floor, probably a former cellar / storeroom. There is also the old small cheese-ripening room. A small pipe emerges from the south-east corner of the refuge and delivers a thin trickle of water, but it probably doesn't run all the time (and certainly not in winter). Half an hour south of the Col de la Cochette. Chalet that appears abandoned (but not entirely!)
