Chalet des Haneaux

The place

Chalet in good condition. You'll find: A table with its two benches, seating about 8 people. A wood-burning leaf-burner-type stove. Two BBQ grills. Outside, a bench alongside the path. I haven't been there myself, but the map shows a nearby spring: "la Salmade". From Vecoux: head towards Chaudefontaine but before reaching it, turn right towards Pré Noël, but again, before reaching it (it will be on the left), keep bearing right. You'll arrive at spot height 643 below les Cucherons. Up to that point the path was paved. There a Club Vosgien sign will point you towards a viewpoint table, set on a burial mound, 15 min away. I parked there. A little before that, on the right, there's a wayside cross along a red-ring path (meaning a circuit of less than 3 hours). This path leads to the chalet de la roulotte, then to la charmotte. On reaching la charmotte I left this path to pick up the green-ring circuit, which took me past the Roche Jaugeon. This is of course not the only way to get there. Caution: this chalet borders the tourbière des charmes nature reserve.
