Chalet des Frasses

The place

Wooden cabin with a metal roof in a forest clearing, at 1623 m in the Bornes-Aravis massif (Haute-Savoie), on the heights above Megève. Accessible from the "Les Frasses" car park via about 100 m of ascent on the path to the Col du Jaillet towards the Croise Baulet. Two rooms: the first with a dirt floor, fairly damp, with two carved benches and a large log serving as a table; the second, 3×3 m with a wooden floor, suitable for sleeping, but completely empty (no beds or blankets — bring your own). Historic Resistance site that sheltered resistance fighters and Jews during the Second World War.
