Chalet des Crètes

The place

A wood stove, though I don't know if it works well, I didn't try it. Two large tables and their benches. The place is clean. It's possible to gather a bit of dry deadwood nearby. The nearest water point is the Fontaine des Oiseaux, a 10-minute walk away. Also the Cascade de l'Ours (20 min), itself next to the Roche de l'Ours. Another water point is found continuing towards the Col des Allemands, a large stream at the spot known as "Gros Sapin" (20 min). It's therefore advisable to fill your water bottles there before heading to the chalet. ST MAURICE-sur-Moselle/BUSSANG area. From the summit of "la Tête de la Bouloie" take a small trail that follows the ridge heading east. It descends gently and is quite pleasant. The trail joins a path marked with a yellow circle (oriented west/east) at its crossing with a path marked with a yellow cross (oriented north/south). Continue on the yellow-circle path heading towards Rouge Gazon. Go 100 metres, look to your left, and there's Chalet des Crêtes. IGN map 3619 OTR
