Chalet de Valbuche

The place

Chalet at 1970 m in the Vanoise massif (Saint-Jean-de-Belleville, Savoie), in the Valbuche stream valley, slightly higher up toward the Col de Valbuche. Renovated in 1996. Lower section dusty and cluttered, roof in good condition but the door doesn't close. A wooden structure takes up half the room and can serve as sleeping space for 3-4 people maximum. Stove present but no firewood nearby. Building (roof and walls) in good condition, excellent shelter in bad weather. Access via the path to the Col Bonnet du Prêtre after the Chalet du Fût, or from the same pass coming from the Chalet de Varlossière (Gittamelon).
