The place

Chalet at 1870 m in the Belledonne massif (Isère), on IGN map 3335ET (Le Bourg-d'Oisans / L'Alpe d'Huez / Grandes-Rousses / Sept Laux). Magnificent setting, well insulated, small and cosy interior. Sleeping space: comfortable mattress upstairs and other sleeping areas. Access trail crossing the forest (Charmille), reaching a clearing near the Articol stream at around 1200 m, following the stream through tight switchbacks, then arriving at the ruins of the Chalet du Gay at 1356 m where the trail joins the GR549 (white circles). Fountain sometimes dry depending on the season.
