Chalet de la Chenaillette

The place

Chalet at 1500 m in the Haute Chaîne du Jura nature reserve (Ain). The main chalet is closed and inaccessible; a freely accessible part contains only a wooden floor and two benches. Serves as a shelter from wind and cold, especially useful as it is permitted in the nature reserve where bivouacking is forbidden. Dogs (even on leash), fires, camping, foraging, motor vehicles and dumping rubbish are forbidden. Access via paths from Mijoux, the Pas de l'Échine, etc.
