The place

Shelter at 1979 m in the Beaufortain massif (Savoie). Plenty of volume but that's about it: a large roof with two straw mattresses of unequal size where 5 people can lie down in total. No stove, fireplace or equipment; certain storage areas with an earth floor reminiscent of makeshift shelters for retreating troops. Guaranteed drafts. Water about 50 m to the west in a small hollow, sufficient flow but rather muddy water with algae. Very basic, recommended only in good weather or with quality sleeping gear. Access via forest tracks from the Col des Cyclotouristes (Venthon, Albertville then Fort du Mont), or via the Tour du Beaufortain (Roche Pourrie, Mirantin, Pte de la Grande Journée).
