The place

Communal refuge at 1754 m in the Vanoise massif (Savoie), managed by the municipality of Valmorel. Capacity of 6 places on mattresses. Fully renovated interior: table, stove, broom, mezzanine accessed by a removable aluminium ladder with three new double mattresses. No water immediately nearby; the nearest water point is at Les Bachals. Access from the car park at the hamlet of La Charmette before Valmorel, via a wide, well-maintained forest track passing through Plan Parc (1h15), or from the Valmorel resort via a trail beneath a chairlift passing under the Chalet des Bachals (1h15).
