Chalet Bourguisan (G Duclos)

The place

A hiking chalet in the Pilat Regional Nature Park, also called "Gaston Duclos" on maps but known locally as "Bourguisan," at 1400 m, less than a kilometre from the Crêt de la Perdrix. A building renovated in 2018, recognisable by its green shutters amid the fir trees, formerly used by the Bourg-Argental ski club. Capacity of 12 places on two levels of platforms covered with thick mats (no need to bring mattresses or blankets), tables, benches, wood stove with wood supplied. No water, no toilets, no electricity, no phone signal — cut off from the world. Weekend rental via the Pilat Tourist Office (Bourg-Argental, 04 77 39 63 49): €30 a night for up to 5 people, €40 beyond that.
