Casera Ramaz Bassa
The place
Alpine pasture hut in Carnia in the municipality of Paularo, at the entrance to the Vallone di Pecòl di Chiàula, a classic starting point for the Rifugio Fabiani, routes to Monte Lodin and the Zollnersee lake on the Austrian side. At the end of a long, narrow road that climbs from Paularo up to the Passo Cason di Lanza area, the pasture is still in use in summer and lets visitors sample the malga's cheese products on site. Casera Ramaz Alta lies higher up at 1463 m. The CAI 454 trail leaves from Ramaz Bassa, passes Casera Lodin and reaches the Rifugio Fabiani in about 2 hours.
