The place
A wilderness casera at 1181 m by the Lago di Meluzzo, in the Val Meluzzo (municipality of Cimolais, Pordenone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia), within the UNESCO territory of the Dolomiti Friulane. An open stop found along the waymarked trail 361 on the wide Meluzzo alpine pasture (1177 m), rich in alpine plant varieties during the season. Very close to the Rifugio Pordenone and the Campanile del Rifugio. A good base for hikes towards the Pian Meluzzo, the Casera Valmenon or the Casera Bregolina Grande, as well as for the famous Campanile di Val Montanaia.
