Casera di Valfredda at 1289 m (DB 1380 m) in the foothills of western Friuli, above Giais (coordinates 46.12°N 12.55°E, municipality of Aviano, province of Pordenone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy). Panoramic views as far as the Adriatic Sea on a clear day. Reopened after renovation (50 beds restored for hikers) by the Gruppo Alpini di Giais (ANA Pordenone) with a contribution from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, materials brought in by helicopter. Rocky plateau. Access via CAI trails 985 and 916. Clustered with Casera Britol (batch 40, 46.13/12.59) 4 km away and Casera Valinis (batch 41, 46.23/12.81).

Renovation by the Gruppo Alpini di Giais (ANA, Pordenone) with a contribution from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region. Three generations of Alpini worked together; materials brought up to altitude by helicopter. 50 beds restored.
