Casemates du col de Gialorgues

The place

A group of 6 sheet-metal huts and one solid building forming a large alpine barracks at 2,520 m at the Col de Gialorgues, in the core zone of the Mercantour-Argentera National Park (Ubaye-Mercantour). Can serve as emergency shelter in bad weather. One of the huts is in poor condition. From the pass, you can head to the Lacs de l'Estrop. Not to be confused with the Refuge CAF de Gialorgues (2,280 m, ~3 km lower).
