The place

Former military bunker at 2560 m in the core zone of the Mercantour National Park (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). Exposed to all winds but very useful in case of bad weather or difficulty: you can sleep on two doors lying on the ground. Not too damp an atmosphere. Refuge de la Cantonnière about 4.6 km away, refuge de la Cayolle 3.6 km away.
