Casemate de la Clavéra 2

Occitanie · France0 mUnguardedVerified listing

The place

These buildings, used by the army during firing exercises at the Clavéra firing range, are open and carry no distinguishing marks or prohibition signs of any kind. Although they offer no comfort and are in no way appealing, they can serve as a backup solution in case of trouble. It is still worth checking for any exercises planned during the week via the numerous signs posted at the various access points. The site described consists of 2 parallelepiped buildings in bare concrete, completely empty apart from some more or less dry mud on the floor: - a "troops" room smelling of urine - a firing room smelling of gunpowder. Note: there are 2 buildings of the same type at the summit of the Puig de la Tossa and one on the right 100 m before the summit. At the Col des Brilles, take a path heading up to the east. The buildings are about a hundred meters to the left. Mont-Louis National Commando Training Centre (CNEC)
