The place
Cascina di Lago is a refuge at 1984 m elevation, renovated in 1992, set beside a beautiful lake in the Val Marcri (Leventina, Ticino), above the village of Personico. Stone construction with a slate roof, equipped with a wood stove and pots and pans. Managed by the Patriziato di Personico, it is part of a group of three refuges in the Val Marcri (along with Stabbio di Mezzo at 1746 m and Canva Marcri at 1602 m). During the September hunting season, the refuges are reserved for hunters and unavailable to hikers.
