Casale Rinaldi

Fermo · Italie0 mRuinVerified listing

The place

Former summer-grazing casale, now abandoned, in the upper Ambro valley, at the foot of the large red-rock scree slopes that characterize the north face of Monte Priora, in the Sibillini Mountains National Park (Marche). Used until the 2010s by shepherds who spent the summer there with their flocks, the building is now in ruins and serves as a landmark rather than a shelter. It was historically linked to the Casale delle Murette on the opposite slope by a trail crossing the whole north side of the Priora. A stage on the routes from the Rifugio del Fargno via the Forcella del Farnio and the Forcella dell'Angagnola.

Getting there

From the Rifugio del Fargno via the Forcella dell'Angagnola, crossing the north face of Monte Priora below the Balzo Rosso.

The setting

Upper Ambro valley, north face of Monte Priora, red-rock scree, Sibillini Mountains National Park.
