Casa forestal de Irabia
The place
Sleeping places: 4. The hut (left-hand door) has a table, a bench and a bunk, all very dirty and damp. This part was closed in 2012. Note also a shelter (opening on the right protected by siding) that is very spartan and rather dirty, with no door, a packed-earth floor flat and dry enough to sleep on, to be used in emergencies. A small, fairly dirty mezzanine, but usable with a sweep of the broom. Water should come from the river below (after treatment), preferably to that of the lake (which generally contains more micro-organisms). At the eastern end of the Irabia lake, a path leads toward the Casas de Irati. Along this track stands a large forest house that is closed; about ten metres east of this large building, right by the path, there is a small structure built against the mountainside.
