The place
Pilgrim accommodation on the Cammino di Francesco, set on the central Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Poggio San Lorenzo, a small Sabine village crossed by the Via di Francesco in the heart of the province of Rieti. Two large rooms, each fitted with four bunk beds, provide sixteen sleeping places in total. A bathroom and an equipped kitchen are available to walkers. The village square is the hub of social life, with a bar and two bar-pizzerias facing the town hall. A stage on the Rieti-Monterotondo stretch of the Via di Francesco, which runs roughly parallel to the ancient Via Salaria before entering Rome through the Riserva della Marcigliana.
