The place

Standard 10-bunk DOC hut in Arthur's Pass National Park (West Coast and Canterbury, Hokitika sector), at 1,128 m. No booking, payment by hut tickets (blue adult, yellow child) or Backcountry Hut Pass (NZ$10/5 until 30 June 2026). Important: vehicle break-ins have been reported at trailheads — secure valuables, prefer the public car park, and contact local police (+64 3 363 7400) if you notice suspicious activity.
