The place

Standard six-bunk hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Mavora Lakes Conservation Park, Southland region (South Island, New Zealand), at 635 metres elevation. Fees until 30 June 2026: NZD 10/night adult, NZD 5 youth (5-17 years), free under 5. No booking required, payment by Standard Hut Ticket deposited in the honesty box or by annual Backcountry Hut Pass. Separate Te Araroa Pass required for Te Araroa walkers.
