Carbet de bivouac Belle-Hôtesse
The place
Bivouac carbet managed by the Guadeloupe National Park, located in the municipality of Pointe-Noire on the border with Sainte-Rose, deep in the tropical forest of Basse-Terre. A stage on the GR G1 "Trace des Alizés", the island's only long-distance trail, which runs along the ridges from north to south in six sections marked by five refuges. The wooden structure comprises an enclosed room with a central table and hooks for hammocks, a dormitory fitted with three-tier sleeping platforms, and a small covered terrace at the entrance. No toilets or running water: a cistern has collected rainwater since the 2015-2016 renovation, but it is not drinkable — bring your own water supply.

A stage on the GR G1 Trace des Alizés. Access via the ridge trails from Pointe-Noire or Sainte-Rose.
