The place

Former shepherds' shelter, restored and converted into a welcoming bivacco in the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park, in the upper Val Parma, at about 1,480 m altitude, on the edge of a precious peat bog. Capacity 4 beds. Facilities: wood stove, non-potable running water, solar electric lighting, basic dishware, toilet. Bring sleeping bags and cooking equipment. Located at the junction of CAI trails 709 and 721, a stage on the 2nd leg of the Alta Via dei Parchi. Season April 1-November 30 (closed December 1-March 31). Rate 20 €/night. Reservation required.
