Capanna Alpe d'Orino: Authentic Mountain Charm Capanna Alpe d'Orino is an alpine refuge located in Bellinzona (hamlet of Gudo), in the canton of Ticino, in the heart of the Lepontine Alps, at 1,400 m elevation. Description and History The cabins that make up this refuge were restored at the end of the last century, and the building housing the refuge was inaugurated in 1992. It is arranged over two floors inside a former stone building fully restored with a shingle roof. The kitchen is equipped with a wood- and gas-fired oven, with cooking utensils; a shared dining room seating 17. Lighting is provided by solar panels.
