The place
Hut at 2257 m in the upper Valle Leventina, municipality of Quinto (canton of Ticino, Lepontine Alps). Belongs to the Mendrisio section of the Società Alpinistica Ticinese (SAT) and its parent federation Federazione Alpinistica Ticinese (FAT) — it is a SAT hut, not an SAC one. Two-level building with two dining rooms for 64 seats and 64 beds spread across six rooms. Open year-round, unstaffed. The old alpine pasture hut was replaced by a new one in 1980, extended in 1991. Indoor sanitary facilities, running water, wood heating, solar lighting. About 1h30 from the Lago Tremorgio cable car. A key stop on the Lago Tremorgio → Capanna Leìt → Capanna Campo Tencia route.
