The place
Capanna Ghezzi (or Casale Ghezzi) is a refuge located at 1570 m altitude in the municipality of Norcia (province of Perugia, Umbria), in the central Apennines, about 3.5 km from Castelluccio di Norcia. Small stone structure built against a former shepherd's farmhouse. Managed by the CAI from 1988 to 2014, then by private individuals. Currently unused: damaged by the 2016 earthquake and not yet restored. The site remains a starting point for hikes to nearby peaks and Lago di Pilato.
