Capanna Cadagno
The place
The Capanna Cadagno (Cadagnohütte) is a mountain hut at 1987 m altitude near the Alpe di Piora, in the Val Piora (Lepontine Alps), in the municipality of Quinto in Ticino. Built in 1934 and fully renovated in 2012-2013, it belongs to the Ritom section of the Società Alpinistica Ticinese (SAT). Staffed from early June to mid-October, it offers 74 beds spread across rooms of varying sizes, washrooms with showers, a dining room for 100 people, and an outdoor terrace. A family-friendly setting on the shores of Lake Cadagno and neighboring Lake Ritom, well suited to hiking, mountain biking, and school outings.

From the Alpe di Piora (municipality of Quinto, Val Piora). Ritom funicular + trail to the Piora plateau.
