The place
Capanna Borgna is a self-managed hut at 1912 m altitude, set above Vogorno (municipality of Verzasca) in the Val della Porta, in the heart of the Ticino Alps. It is one of five huts along the Via Alta della Verzasca (VAV). Owned by the Società Escursionistica Verzaschese (SEV), unstaffed, it consists of two buildings. The common room holds 22 people; the dormitories offer 18 + 9 sleeping places on mattresses with wool blankets. Equipped kitchen (gas and wood) and solar lighting. A classic base for the VAV and hikes in the Pizzo di Vogorno area.
