The place

Bivouac at 1224 m on Alpe Pessina, in the Valsolda Regional Forest (province of Como, Lombardy), between Cime di Bronzone (1396 m) to the north and Monte Bronzone (1434 m) to the south. Renamed "Capanna Bonardi-Mazzoleni" on 9 June 2018 in tribute to Mauro Bonardi (former mayor of Carlazzo and ERSAF collaborator) and Antonio Mazzoleni (ERSAF team leader), both recently deceased and instrumental in turning the former ruin into a welcoming bivouac. Stone and wood structure with a main room featuring a large table, benches, fireplace, heating stove, cartridge gas stove, a small cupboard, and cooking utensils. Mezzanine with two sleeping places reached by ladder. Nearby spring, outdoor barbecue and woodpile. Access from Dasio toward Monte Bronzone.
