Capanna Alpe Saléi
The place
A little gem of the Val Onsernone at 1777 m, immersed in the wild, unspoiled nature of the Lepontine Alps (Ticino, Switzerland). The hut was born in 1993 from the renovation of a disused alpine cheese dairy, thanks to the work of the municipality of Comologno, volunteers, and financial support from various associations; it was inaugurated on 14 August 1994. A stone building with 16 sleeping places and a panoramic terrace. Easily accessible via the Zott-Salei cable car or via various trails from the nearby traditional villages. Open from May to October. A refreshment point (not a restaurant) serving the typical Salei polenta, cold cuts and cheese platters, salads and homemade cakes.
