Cannibal Gorge Hut

The place

DOC serviced-category hut with twenty bunks located at 902 m in the Lewis Pass Scenic Reserve (West Coast), near Greymouth. On the Te Araroa route: long-distance hikers can use their dedicated Te Araroa Trail Pass; standard tickets and the Backcountry Hut Pass are also accepted. Rate NZD 25 adult and NZD 12.50 youth (5-17) per night (free up to age 4) for the hut; alternative camping with standard tickets at NZD 10 adult and NZD 5 youth. Online booking mandatory, availability up to 30 June 2027; no places held for walk-ins without a booking.
