The place

A dry-stone caborne (hut) at 365 m in the hills of the Monts d'Or, in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or (Rhône, near Lyon). Known as the "Girard twins," it is part of a local heritage of 400 to 600 cabornes built by farmers for shelter and to store tools, sometimes even lived in. About fifty have recently been restored by local associations. Several 3-6 km trails in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or and Poleymieux allow visitors to explore them. A one-off shelter for strictly daytime, heritage-focused use.
