The place

Sleeping places: 19. It is a hexagonal wooden refuge. - A large table - a stove in the centre but no wood stock (trees nearby), - large stacked bunks. - 2 wood saws, - a shovel and a broom. Very busy: mentally prepare to sleep on the floor, and/or plan a backup refuge. A stream that always has water, even at the height of summer, passes 10 m from the refuge. The [->1967] above will allow you to fetch water! OUTDOOR FIRES FORBIDDEN! This ban is clearly posted on the door. Please respect nature. Many people come up via the Pas de l'Aiguille on foot, on cross-country skis..., I don't know it myself (see however the photo and comment from CT-CONNEXE dated 29 January 2007). When arriving from [->16], it is easy to find, at the bottom of the last descent. Coming from the other side ([->19] ...) it is less easy as it is hidden by a hill. You can also come from [->2011], crossing the Rochers du Parquet. Route partly along a ridge, with a splendid view of [->1237]...! Access by public transport: SNCF line from Grenoble to Gap. Stop at Clelles, 8 km of paths (2 of which paved) leaving the station, take the path north of the D7 then via "le Château Vieux", Donnière, cross La Richardière then climb the Pas de l'Aiguille (600 m elevation gain).
