Cabane forestière de Charcotin

The place

Forest cabin at 1030 m in the Taillefer-Matheysine massif (Isère). Access from the hamlet of Saint-Sauveur (municipality of Notre-Dame-de-Mésage) via a path marked in yellow. The path switchbacks up to a forest track around 850 m, follow it to the left for nearly 1 km, then a recently marked path climbing due south, sometimes bordered by old stone walls, in a discreet valley up to the cabin. Recently locked with a padlock — the philanthropic message "Refuge open to all" that used to be written there has disappeared. Public access uncertain.
