Rustic and Authentic Mountain Cabin The Mountain Cabin, located on the border between Spain and France, offers rustic accommodation for nature lovers. With 15 places available for sleeping, this cabin is appreciated for its cleanliness and wholesome atmosphere. Sleeping Areas First part: Fireplace, table, loft for 10 people. Adjoining space: Sleeping platform for 5 people without heating (bring sleeping mats). Water Supply: Stream (disinfection required), spring 150 metres away. Wood available in the surrounding area for the fireplace. Access from Spain Start from the Irabia reservoir (Embalse), 40 km northeast of Pamplona. Park at the lot near the dam and take the forest track west of the lake. Cross the bridge over the Egurguy, continue on the track until you reach the cabin. Access from France From St Jean de Pied de Port, head towards the Iraty resort as far as Lac Iratiko Etchola. Take the D301 on the left after the lake, pass the Col de Sourzay. At the Col d'Irau, take a pastoral road south following the stream. At the ford marking the border, leave the car and continue on the forest track to the bridge over the Egurguy. Cross and climb the track on the right to reach the cabin (vehicle access not possible). Availability and Booking Available year-round. No booking needed, first come first served.
